Every year, at this time, locals look forward to the Annual West Side County Fair, held the weekend after Labor Day. This year it was exceptionally crowded with kids and grownups. One of the biggest attractions is the kid-friendly concerts that go on all day during the fair. We're very lucky in New York City to have so many wonderful musicians.
I had a great time recording this young audience as they moved to the music. Many of the toddlers hadn't even been walking very long. But that didn't stop them from "Gettin' Down With The Beat." Our thanks to Terry Dame and his band, Electric Junkyard Gamelan, and Woody Pines (featured in HBO's "Treme").
